A year later confirms; prayers were answered!
May 14, 2007 - Vatican: Last year in mid-March we asked for your prayers. Mary Patrice Hope Kaufman, the grand daughter of a strong advocate of devotion to Our Lady of America and friend of the Our Lady of America Center was born acutely pre-mature and weighed just 1lb 12oz at birth on March 6th 2006. Both mother and child suffered severe complications and at the time were in grave danger. We implored your prayers for the intercession of Our Lady of America on behalf of Mary Patrice and her mother."Please join us in prayer as we ask Our Lady of America to intercede for Bridget Kaufman and her beautiful new baby, Mary Patrice Hope Kaufman, born Monday March 6, 2006 weighing 1lb. 12oz.” (Our Lady of America web site March 2006)
About a year since her birth, mother and child made a pilgrimage to Vatican City to thank God for the great graces of healing received during this period. Much to the surprise of her parents, His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI, blessed and kissed this child after his General Audience on Wednesday, April 4, 2007. While she still has challenges, we are very hopeful, especially after this personal Papal Blessing.
Thank you for your prayers!
